Inspired by the Myths of Baba Yaga, Hades and The Fisher King... There are stories of maidens sent into the dark forest with only a candle, a doll, or a crumb of bread for guidance. Stories where the hearth-fire goes out, and the only way forward is to seek out Baba Yaga’s hut, Hades’ throne, or the Grail Guardian’s riddle— and to endure their impossible tests. Each keeper of the threshold appears in their own way: the witch who devours all pretence, the king of the underworld who strips you of what cannot follow, the guardian who demands your heart’s unshakable truth. These three together form the Old Realm. To cross their thresholds is to undergo the alchemy of survival, descent, and service — a passage that strips you bare, seats you in your own shadow, and asks whether you will choose healing not as conquest, but as devotion.
